12 days of Christmas

12 days till the 6th of January which has always been an important day for me, as over the last 3 decades, it was the first time I saw an Angel in my bedroom, It was the due date of my second son, and it was the day I got told to follow a rainbow. Now those who know me, know how logical I am, so to even write this sentence even to me sounds whimsical and yet it was the beginning of my epiphany which in the dictionary means a moment of sudden and great revelation or realization.
The song 12 days of Christmas has it wrong, we think we are counting the days to Christmas, in fact, it is the 12 days after Christmas that it talks about as we read about angels guiding the shepherds and wise men and women who are the Magi.  The Magi are referred to as wise men and kings. The word magi is the plural of Latin magus, borrowed from Greek μάγος (magos), as used in the original Greek text of the Gospel of Matthew. To me, I love the word Magi, as it is the beginning of Magic, and I know as I have embraced the spiritual aspect of myself, listened to the angels, followed spiritual signs, which I like to call spiritual signposts, my life has become richer and deeper. I hear clearly now and whilst life is not a bed of roses, I know I am not alone but am guided by heavenly hosts. Over the next 12 days, I want to share my personal journey, whilst also looking through the lens of history, to help bring alignment, peace, and wonder to the joy of living an authentic spiritual life.

Merry Christmas, as we look at 2021 it seems that time has felt like it has either stood still or sped up.  That we have all had to learn to live day by day, those long-term plans, dreams or goals can change with the latest announcements. What we do know is that we have all had to learn to embrace change. Throughout history, changes occurred during times of upheaval and unrest such as the era of the industrial revolution, enlightenment, and the reformation to name a few. There is no doubt we are all living through a season of unrest where we are wanting to see equality for all. The Age of Enlightenment occurred during the 18th century and is known as a time period of great change and new ideas. The Enlightenment ideas moved societies to live by liberty and equality.  It changed the way we lived. There are rumblings of a new era, love, compassion, and acceptance are what we are all crying for, to be respected for who we are no matter our gender, race, or beliefs.  We can either embrace change and allow for transformation to change us or we can resist change and feel despair.

Gandi wrote, “If you want to change the world, start with yourself”. For me, this means starting to write and share my ideas, thoughts, and my testimony.  To have the courage to have a voice to question all that I have been taught, and reread sacred texts through a feminist and spiritual lens. I look forward to sharing my learnings and introducing you to the wonderful world of the Spirit of Wisdom so you too can hear clearly.
